About Us

Hello, our names are Kyle, Amris and Leif. We were all born, raised, and currently reside in beautiful central New Mexico with each other. I have always been inspired by nature and exploring art, but did not know it would be such a large part of my life growing up. The first pieces of art that I produced commercially were willow tree sculptures that were made from the branches when I was around the age of 10. I would sell them to my neighbors to fund other projects that my sister Jacque and I would be pursuing at the time. I became an amateur musician at the age of 15 when I started spending more time with my cousin Jon and would listen to him play his guitar. I spent roughly 5 years focused on music with him as my primary teacher, focusing on guitar but learning to play the piano, harmonica, and various other instruments as well. When I turned 19, I reunited with a man named Ryan Beall who would inevitably change the direction of my artistic life. I met him when I was very young, but didn’t see him again until one morning while picking my cousin Dameian up for school. He invited me to his house to talk business and over time we became great friends. I became a woven necklace artist to produce high quality necklaces for his glass pendants. After roughly half of a year I started to push him about glass and he offered to let me play in his studio. That marked a monumental moment in my life and without knowing it, I would step through a door that would change my life forever as an artist. I have been making glass art since 2013, and would start to fall into other arts while I explored glass. I quit producing high quality necklaces to pursue glass more, and would inevitably work with other silicate based art forms. I started to produce obsidian art pieces such as arrowheads, spear points and knives in 2017, and in 2019 I started cutting gemstones and cabochons with the help of a few gentlemen named Ernie Hawes, Don Williams, John Bailey, and Kurt Bendlin; all of whom given me all the help I could have ever asked for with regards to developing the skills to produce the beautiful gem related art I have been able to. In 2023 with the help of my wife Amris, we were able to produce one of the most beautiful piece of collaborated art either of us could have with the birth of our son Leif. Following his birth I started the development of my mineral business “BFK Minerals” and began producing my own oil painting pigments in 2024. I’m forever grateful for the direction I’ve been guided towards with regard to my arts and want to use this space to give thanks to everyone mentioned, and future thanks for the ones who will come.
